Some girls friends and I came to Los Amigos today! We had the best time! The restaurant was leans the staff was friendly the moment we walked in.. we sat at the bar the bartender was Jain Carlos he was such a sweetheart! He was informed about the differ tequilas they had at the bar! I had a meal off the lunch menu the meal came out just the way I ordered it! I'm picky! It was hot and yummy..I'll definitely be back to this new location of Los Amigos!!

I had been to the old Los Amigos location near Piggly Wiggly on Clairmont, and I thought it was pretty cool they were going to be replacing Bird's here in Lakeview. Los Amigos is your typical Mexican Restaurant with the pretty standard decorations and menu items you see at most Mexican places. I was here for a birthday party last weekend and we had about 15-16ish people in our group. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our group. They created a super large table for us out of two medium sized ones so we could all sit together. We started off with their free chips and salsa. Always a plus! To eat, I ordered the quesadilla suprema with shredded chicken. There were actually a galore of quesadilla options to choose from. That makes me a happy camper! It's my go to at Mexican restaurants. The quessadilla suprema itself was okay, not particularly memorable. It comes with a side of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole which was okay as well. Also not something I feel like I have to have. The food was decent, but again not something I'm craving to have or dying to go back to. El barrio on the other hand does that for me!
Overall, I'll be more likely to come eat here since they moved to this location. But only if I'm already in Lakeview, it is not really quite my go to place for Mexican food in general. -

Not your typical strip-mall Mexican!
This place was by the Piggly Wiggly on Clairmont forever, and it's now moved to Lakeview in a gorgeous new space! We went over the weekend, and I am very happy to report that the menu and the food is exactly the same! Of course you get free chips and salsa when you sit down, but my kids demand that I always order queso to get us started. I'm never sorry about it either - it's good stuff!
I usually order one of the VERY reasonably priced combination platters - always a TON of food! Or, I'll order the tacos al carbon - super juicy and flavorful - the marinated steak is one of my favorite dishes. -

Went on a Thursday night and semi crowded. I don't know why. I've been here years ago with family and it seemed much more authentic and pleasing.
Tonight I went solo. Several issues. I got seated near the restroom/kitchen area It was not as great as it seemed. It was very high traffic area and therefore very stressful.
My waiter semi greeted me and took my drink order and then returned every 4 minutes to see if I had made a decision on my food. When I was ready, I flagged him down and I thought things would settle down. Wrong. I never saw my waiter after he dropped my meal off, except to order a sopapilla. How convenient. No water refills or another margarita nada.
Food was like it was delivered from the grocery store next door. I had steak and chicken fajitas and it came with a whopping 3 tortilla shells. Oh, and if you want bonus sour cream or guac it's a dollar more. I finished and paid my tab and left for good adios hasta no!!!! No sweat if this place dies. -

The location is spot on! The whole place is top notch and way more roomier than the previous location. I mean being located in Lakeview is a definite plus! Parking could potentially be an issue BUT I would say it's worth it just to check out the new and improved Los Amigos !! Since this location is close to my work , we are still able to walk to get lunch. Awesome! I love the new location because it's very warm and inviting - there's even an outdoor patio!
The food is still consistent and the inside dining area is HUGE and has a number of large televisions throughout! I was really impressed with the new restaurant! Don't let the potential parking issue scare you away! It's worth it!
